Everything you need to know

We need you!

Our semester abroad volunteers are the foundation of our volunteer program! The children thrive on the stability of having volunteers around for extended periods. You’re about to make a big impact on their lives!

Where will I live?

In both Quito and Cuenca, you’ll live with fellow volunteers in safe, secure housing located on the same property as an orphanage. There are separate areas for single women, single men, and families.

The housing comes with Wi-Fi, stocked kitchens, clean drinking water, and plenty of supplies to plan activities for the children.

When should I apply?

We accept only eight semester-abroad volunteers per semester at each location, so apply early to secure your spot!

How much does it cost?

Will I need a visa?

No visa is needed unless you plan to stay in Ecuador for more than 90 days. (All of our semester abroad dates are under 90 days.)

Is Spanish required?

No, Spanish is not required. You may face some language barriers if you don’t speak Spanish, but you’ll still have an amazing experience. You will quickly discover that love and kindness are universal languages.

Who is considered a Semester Abroad Volunteer?

A semester abroad volunteer is someone who arrives during the official arrival week and departs during the official departure week of their assigned semester. If you arrive after arrival week or leave before departure week, you’ll be considered a short-term volunteer, and your program fees will be adjusted accordingly.
