WANT TO GET COLLEGE CREDIT FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION WITH OSSO?
How to earn credit for your service with OSSO: You may earn college credit for your OSSO experience. You can earn 2 to 6 credits of upper-division practicum credit in Child and Family Studies through Weber State University (these credits will transfer to other universities). To register for the credit, please do the following:
- You must apply for admission to Weber State University. You may do this online at www.weber.edu. You will probably want to apply as a transfer student if you are already enrolled at a different university.
- Once you are admitted to Weber State University, you will then need to enroll in the class. You will need to register for Child and Family Studies (CHF) 4860. You will need instructor approval in order to be admitted to the class. Please contact Dr. Paul Schvaneveldt to get the necessary permission at pschvaneveldt@weber.edu.
- You can register for 2 to 6 credits, depending upon your length of service.
2 credits = 3 weeks of OSSO Service
4 credits = 6 weeks of OSSO Service
6 credits = 9 weeks or more of OSSO Service
- Once you get enrolled in the class, please send an e-mail to Dr. Schvaneveldt. He will then send you the paper assignment you will need to complete prior to the end of the semester. This can be done through e-mail.
- You may register for the credit anytime after you complete your service. As mentioned above, the credit will transfer to other universities. It is strongly recommended that you check with your academic advisor at your university to see exactly how the credit will count towards your graduation.
